An outing to the Symphony of Lights, now in its 18th year, is a long-standing tradition for Howard and neighboring county residents. A spectacular display of more than 70 larger-than-life, animated and stationary light creations, it is a “must-see” during the holiday season.
Conveniently located in downtown Columbia's Symphony Woods, the display is open for vehicles from Monday, November 21, 2010 through Sunday, January
1, 2012.
Hours of operation: Open 7 days a week, from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m., including holidays. CLOSED December 31st for the Midnight at 7 event. Driving through the display does not require a reservation.

The latest numbers from eMarketer project that advertisers will spend nearly $1.7 billion in the U.S. on social networking sites in 2010. Worldwide, spending will hit $3.3 billion according to the report. The numbers represent a significant bump up from estimates published by the research firm at the end of last year, when it projected $1.3 billion would be spent on the space in the U.S. Not surprisingly, eMarketer sees about half of that money (in the U.S.) going to Facebook ( ), with MySpace ( ) continuing to see a smaller share of the pie.
